Psoriasis
Biopsy of a Psoriasis vulgaris on the stretching side of
the elbow: certain features typical of psoriasis allow a specific
diagnosis (micro-abscesses piled up on top of one another
in the horn skin layer, narrow supra-papillary epidermis);
however, the usual appearance of psoriasis is greatly altered
by the physical stresses brought about through the location
(compact horny skin layer, hypergranulosis instead of narrowed
granular-cell layer, irregular epithelium hyperplasia instead
of an even, extended ridge network).
