Faulty initial incision into biopsate

Small biopsate with all sides of the same length. Since upper, lower and side surfaces were macroscopically indistinguishable, a flat incision was made into the preparation. Only after re-embedding was a small portion of the basal-cell carcinoma revealed (below right).
