CURETTE ring curettes
Sterile single-use instrument for precise and gentle
curettage
The curette has always had a secure place
in the dermatological, diagnostic and therapeutic palette
of instruments, and is one of the most versatile. For some
time it has increasingly been deployed in other specialist
departments as well, such as plastic surgery and gynæcology.
The aim of curettage is the removal of a superficial skin
change with a minimum of damage to the surrounding tissue.
Since the sharp spoon, frequently used for
this purpose, lives up to its name all too rarely, and instead
of a histopathological preparation that can readily be assessed,
very often only a few tiny tissue fragments are produced,
some time ago the ring curette with two different diameters
(4mm and 7mm) was developed. The curette is extremely sharp
and thus gives precise and gentle tissue removal, which also
facilitates its deployment in the treatment of superficial
malign tumours. Its enormous cutting-power makes work considerably
easier compared with the ”sharp spoon“.
The advantages
The ring curette is comparable in size and
weight to a fountain-pen, and impresses by its easy handling.
It consists of a plastic handle, with an extremely sharp ring-shaped
blade set into it.
- extremely sharp blade
- ergonomic handle
- good field of operating visibility
